New York, NY; May 7, 2010) Once again, on May 22, 2010 the New York African Chorus Ensemble, under the direction of Joyce Adewumi, is bringing people in our communities together for a festive day of fun and dancing under the sun as an appeal to stop racial and ethnic violence.

Celebrate Diversity Celebrate You Day is a show of live music performances and artistic exhibition that reflect the collective beauty of our cultural origins and the values of our diversity in New York City. Performances includes, Chinese waist drum group, Liberata Dance Theatre, Inc, Bodoma Garifuna Band, New York African Chorus Ensemble, Uptown Dance Academy, Latin band, Southern Folk music, Rock group and many more. Guest Artists include Frank West, Loretta Abbot, Michaelangelo Davis, and Nami Kagami. The event will also feature awards to notable public office holders who have been distinguished leaders of our community and effective in their commitment on the issue.

This free event will take place at the historic Jackie Robinson Park Bandshell in Harlem, on May 22, 2010, from 10:00AM – 6:00AM. Jackie Robinson Park is located at 146th Street Between Bradhurst and Edgecombe Avenues in Manhattan. There will be a fantastic moving finale that is bound to be the topic of conversation for many years to come. If there is a concert you must see this year, Celebrate Diversity Celebrate You festival is it.
